This
is a Kimball player pump organ in rough but
restorable condition. Some panels are missing. I will have a
detailed list of what is missing for anyone interested.

A cover pulls down
over the roll box

The wooden tracker bar has 44 holes. There are no music
rolls nor take up spools.

Looking from the back. Sticker says Kimball
Automatic Self Playing Organ. The holes underneath are for tubes
from the tracker bar to the stack. I can disassemble further
take pictures and answer questions. The curves are camera
distortion. Some notes do play when pumped.
This is from Chamberlain South Dakota,
we think from the old TB sanitorium. There is a 203046
number in large white stencil on the back putting it before the turn
of the century as Pierce gives 222,580 for 1900 and 167400 for
1895.
I am a piano technician with training and
a fair amount of experience in player pianos and pump organs and
thought about restoring it. However with no rolls it
doesn't make sense. Two collectors have told me they have
never heard of rolls. With no rolls what is the instrument
worth? On the other hand with no instrument to
play them on what are any rolls worth if they should turn
up? Hopefully the internet will help solve this
dilemma. So if anyone knows of rolls please let me know.
44 note, nine to the inch. Until then I will keep this
instrument untouched for the collector looking the
original unrestored condition At some point though the chest
must be opened up for inspection to make sure the reed chambers
are free of cracks, dry rot, worm holes etc. But these details
will be worked out with the perspective buyer
