I am primarily a piano
tuner-technician which means most of my work is done in the
shop or "in the field" consisting of service calls to homes,
studios, venues, institutions, etc. Work done in the
field involves tuning, regulation, voicing, and minor
repairs.
Work done in the
shop includes ivory repair, keytop replacement, major regulation,
parts replacement, repinning, hammer filing, hammer and string
replacement. Started training (apprenticeship is a better
word) in San Francisco in 1971 and was full time self employed
from1976 to 1988 then I moved to South Dakota.
My specialties include player piano
restoration, piano refinishing
in hand rubbed oil, and preparation for
performance.
